Each DOH Hospital is mandated under the DOH Administrative Order No. 1-B to establish its own Women and Children Protection Unit. CPU-Net, as a partner to DOH, provides training for each staff of the WCPU. The staff includes the physician, social worker, and nurse. Now, community-based child protection centers are also being established through different partnerships with INGOs/NGOs and the local government units. CPU-Net extends the same partnership to the NGOs and local government units. Physicians who complete the 6-week training are invited to join the CPU-Net as Individual Members. CPU-Net also has Member CPUs. They are the hospital-based centers with trained staff and a dedicated facility to perform medico-legal evaluations. To date, we have 52 individual members and 19 member CPUs. |
